International Day of People with Disability fell on Sunday 3 December this year.
The HenderCare Disability Services team joined other Adelaide-based service providers in spending Friday 1 December in Victoria Square celebrating the occasion.

International Day of People with Disability is an important date in the HenderCare calendar. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of people with a disability, and focus on breaking down accessibility barriers.
Libby Burns, our National Disability & Allied Health Services Manager, said that it was a great chance to get out into the community to meet participants and their families, as well as other service providers. “The NDIS has completely flipped the traditional model of care for people with a disability.
Now, plans are goal-driven, and the participants are truly in the driver’s seat.”
“Getting out and about in our community at events like this is just one of the ways we show how committed we are to supporting participants,” she said.
HenderCare and the NDIS
HenderCare is proud to have been a Registered NDIS Provider since 2013. As the rollout of the NDIS has increased, so too has demand for our services. With a long history as a disability services provider, we’re committed to working with each participant as they transition onto the scheme.
