Meet Lucy.
Lucy has recently joined HenderCare as the Service Delivery Manager in SA. We sat down with her to learn about her role, how she got into the industry and her favourite thing to do on the weekend.
Can you tell me about your role and what it involves?
As Service Delivery Manager for South Australia, I manage the provision of HenderCare support services to people with a disability or who are aged. I work with a great team of staff who help our clients access services designed to meet their goals – increase their independence and safety, maintain their home, participate in activities and access the community. As a team, we will be working to grow our services throughout South Australia and implement systems to support responsive, flexible and quality service provision.
What drew you to this particular role and industry? (what you love about your role).
I have worked the disability and aged care sectors for 14 years as an occupational therapist, clinical lead and service manager. I love the variety in my role at HenderCare – no two days are the same. Every client and family we work with is unique and the services we provide can have a significant positive impact on their lives. I am excited to join the team and am looking forward to working with you all!
What do you enjoy to do the most on weekends/your days off?
I enjoy walking to my local coffee shop and reading a book, exploring new walking trails, trying out new recipes with friends and spending time with my 18-month old niece. I also like to include a mix of kickboxing, pilates and dancing for fun and fitness.
