Our Intake and Engagement Team serves as the first point of contact at HenderCare. They help individuals navigate their service options and aim to provide a seamless onboarding process. Focusing on individual needs, they ensure every client receives personalised care and support. They’re there from the start and remain a consistent presence throughout the care journey.
Continuing our “Meet the Intake Team” article, we want to introduce you to our Intake and Engagement Team that makes it all happen in WA:
Petrina
Petrina has been with HenderCare for over seven years and has many years of experience in the NDIS sector. With a background as a Registered Nurse specialising in spinal care, respiratory care, and sleep medicine, she has a strong foundation in supporting people with complex health needs. Holding a Graduate Certificate in Mental Health, Petrina is skilled in addressing both physical and psychological aspects of care.
As a mother of two NDIS participants, her lived experience adds a personal and compassionate perspective, making her a dedicated advocate for individuals and families navigating the system. She is committed to empowering people with disabilities and fostering inclusive communities.
Chavindhya
Chavindhya (Chavi) has three years of experience in the community services field and is passionate about advocating for and supporting individuals with disabilities. After a rewarding career in IT, she transitioned to community services to make a meaningful impact in people’s lives. Driven by a desire to foster inclusivity and provide compassionate care, she is committed to empowering clients and ensuring their needs are met.
Chavi holds a Diploma in Community Services, a Master of Business Administration specialising in Managing and Leading People, and a Bachelor of Computer Applications. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, playing table tennis, and spending time with her family.
Jamie
Jamie is a dedicated Disability Intake and Engagement Nurse at HenderCare, bringing several years of nursing experience across hospice, palliative care, telehealth, recruitment, and community care.
She is passionate about advocating for clients’ choices and supporting them in finding wellness within their illness. Jamie offers personalised care and maintains open communication with her clients. When she’s not at work, Jamie enjoys running along the coast with her border collie, Peanut.
Kavita
Kavita is a skilled Clinical Nurse with over 13 years of experience across diverse healthcare settings, including acute care, rehabilitation, palliative care, dementia units, aged care, ICU, and child health. Currently, she is a Paediatric Clinical Nurse at HenderCare, contributing to the Intake and Engagement Team.
Kavita exemplifies HenderCare’s values of connection, curiosity, courage, and commitment, fostering a culture of excellence and compassion. Her ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with diverse teams, combined with her strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills, makes her an invaluable asset in delivering high-quality care and support.
