Mandy De Cesare is HenderCare’s National Allied Health Services Manager. As an Occupational Therapist herself, Mandy has 29 years’ experience in assisting people living with disability and older persons.
In this short Q&A Mandy sits down to explain why HenderCare is now offering allied health services and delves deeper into the range of services on offer.
Why did HenderCare decide to set up an allied health team?
We believe this was a natural progression for HenderCare given our experience in providing health and community care. We hope our entry into the market will go some way to reducing the wait time to see allied health professionals felt by many in the disability and aged care sectors.
What allied health services will you be offering and where?
We are pleased to be offering physiotherapy, psychology, occupational therapy, speech pathology and play therapy. Initially, we are offering these services in South Australia only but are looking to expand interstate soon.
How quickly can people be seen?
As we are a new service, we aim to see all new clients within two weeks of booking.
Can allied health services be claimed under a Home Care Package or NDIS plan?
Depending on the amount and type of funding available to you, you may be able to claim your allied health service/s through your relevant funding source. It’s important to understand what you can and can’t claim prior to your consultations but our team can discuss this with you at the time of booking. Private paying customers are also welcome to refer.
Do people need a doctor’s referral to see our specialists?
No. There is no need to have a doctor’s referral to see our allied health team.
How do people book their consultation?
People can call HenderCare on 1300 764 433 or email alliedhealth@hendercare.com.au to make a booking.
